Been playing MM for years, and lurking here for... well, years? 
I've played through MM6 and MM8 many many times, but I've never played MM7 through all the way. Despite that I wanted to try something different, so download the mod and made a KDCS party... So far the difficulty of even EI is much nicer than the excessively easy version of the original, but one thing that is bugging me is that such NICE gear is just sitting there on the ground... One of my favorite parts of MM games is starting off so weak, barely able to do anything, then slowly over time gaining small upgrade after small upgrade, till near the end of the game you finally start getting uber gear.
Does this bug anyone else? Are the enhancements of the mod worth the tradeoff of loss of wonder and awe at new good gear? 
Just wanted an opinion from someone who's played it more before I invest weeks or months of my life to playing this mod
