Radek writes: Preservation helps against death caused by massive loss of HP. Note that you will survive if your END + hit points is positive even if your hit points is zero or negative (you'll be unconscious in that case). Preservation removes the "must be positive" condition - you will survive as long as the spell is active, period. Nevertheless, Preservation DOES NOT help against "instant death" attacks delivered by Minotaur Lords, red Wyverns or "blaster guys". You need GM Protection from Magic - this is the only tool against the instant death attacks. Nothing else works. Sorry.
