As far as I can tell, when either MM7che or the game itself puts an item into your inventory, it flags the squares taken up by that item as "full" so that nothing else gets placed in them.Rev4mod changed the sizes of some items. So if you put one of those items in with MM7che, the squares for the old size get flagged. But then when you pick up the item in the game, only the squares taken up by the item's new size get unflagged. The leftover squares are now mistakenly flagged, and can crash your game.
I use a hex editor instead of MM7che to edit items in Rev4mod. And if I'm changing one type of item to another, I either have a character equip it so that it won't screw up the inventory spaces by changing size, or I swap items of identical size.
Editing anything else about the characters in MM7che should still work fine.
