map giver being absent . . he should be there if your highligted character has all six Saint's scrolls in inventory.As far as Light/Dark path is concerned, in this mod there is only Light Path. As you progress into the game you will see why this is.
If you don't have a Paladin in tyour party, the map giver is not criical since that map completes the Paladin to Crusader promotion quest and you will not be able to do the Hero quest which provides the party with some very nice armor.
The fact that you did not delete the new {lod) file may have contributed to this problem, but I wouldn't start over if that is your only problem.
