if you need to actually see the DM lay out the dungeon floor on a table (or draw a map for you). If the DM simply says: "You see 60 feet of corridor with a door on the right after 10 feet" then everyone can draw their own maps. Or, "You enter a room and can only see about 30 feet into it in all directions, but you don't see any walls other than the wall where the door is that you entered through." It's more entertaining to play with props like dungeon floor and miniatures, but it isn't necessary to get through the game.I guess battle would have to have a bit more exposition about who is close and how many adventurers can take on the monster(s), but it could be done.
