MM7 is kinda depressing . . .

    Consider:

A thorough search reveals scarcely a single human child to be found in the whole continent of Erathia.

Furthermore, at least 95% of the human females one encounters appear to be either 1) vaguely masculine (or, at least, not at all definitively feminine), 2) dead, or 3) in the Erathian army and therefore about to become dead (unless you're playing "nice").

Given these findings, the obvious conclusion is that the human race is on its way out, at least in the continent of Erathia. The current generation will live, work, squabble with the elves, then die . . . and then nothing will be left of the once-mighty Kingdom of Erathia. Not to mention Bracada and Harmondale and probably other places that I'm forgetting about. What will happen there, I wonder? Will elves or goblins or dwarves expand into the newly available area, or will Bracada become entirely barren of civilization, unvisited by all but the most hardy of adventurers?

This is a sufficiently significant circumstance that one would think there would surely be at least a minor storyline about it. I suppose that maybe there was one originally, but the developers couldn't find enough room to include it in the final version of the game and had to leave it out.

. . . It just occurred to me: Maybe all those 'baby's hand' amulets are part of the reason? I know they aren't the actual flesh-and-blood hands, but the witches have to have something to serve as models . . . . Wouldn't THAT be ironic! Humans being "hunted" to extinction because witches prize their infants' hands so highly. Rhinos and elephants (and those mogred (sp?) beasts) would call that poetic justice, don't you think?
