I remember the Priest of the Dark promotion person, Dedalus Falk, saying that the Dark path of magic originated from the Temple of the Moon. I also vividly remember Kastore saying that my party could use the inhabitants of the Temple of the Moon in The Pit for target practice. I believe the Light path followers say things that are eerily similar.
The Sun/Moon temples have been so cut off from the outside world that they don't even know if you're on their side- and if 4 fully armed burly adventurers strode through your door, how would you react?
No consequences as far as I know, they just hate your guts and you are 'defending' yourself and 'repossessing' that cloak. And if you were truly Light and good, you would be ending that age-old fight between those warring factions, wouldn't you?
