If you can find an unenchanted weapon of the same type as one with a magical bonus (like "of Flames"), you will be able to quickly demonstrate to yourself that the damage range calculation does NOT include the damage bonus from the enchantment.For Peter's comment about the items "of magic" stacking, while it is true that any item "of magic" in MM6 stacks with the artifact that has the same property, I believe that in MM7 and MM8 they made sure that this would not occur with any of the "of magic" named items (artifacts, relics, etc.).
For other items, results can sometimes be unpredictable. In MM8 I have found the Ring of Fusion stacks with some items "of alchemy" but not all, so every time I find a new item of alcemy I have to figure which of the items it stacks with before I can determine if I'm better with the new item or the old item. (I have never been able to figure out why it stacks with one item and not with another).
