Is if I am playing a light party, I take all the dark artifacts/quest items and either re-hide them, or toss them into the ocean. For instance, in Nighon, I go into the Maze and find a lich jar with (I forget the name) someone's essence in it. Often, I will (if I decide on giving the maze a good pummeling with blaster rifles) retrieve that jar, get the wetsuits, and go to Avlee, then to the Shoals. Then I will put that jar in a treasure chest next to the sunken ship where you find the Temple in a Bottle. Then I will go back to the Lincoln and town portal (or Lloyd's beacon) out, leaving the poor lich at the bottom of the ocean. Poor little lichie!!! Sometimes I'll just go to whichever maps have coastline and just drop the jar off into the sea. Either way, there's one less lich to deal with...
I suppose I could do this with a dark party, as well...
And by the way, what happens if you dismiss an NPC at maximum altitude for the "fly" spell, over the ocean?
