I use XP, here's how you do it.

    Right click on the .exe file (either in your programs menu or the icon if you have a desktop shortcut) and then click properties. You should see a screen that has three tabs, general, shortcut, and compatibility. Open the compatibility tab and check the box that says: "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and then use the drop-down menu beneath to select which version you want. 98 probably works best.
