1. The best kind of weapon in MM7 is *spear*, not sword. Spears are more efficient than swords and there are two extremely good spear artifacts in the game.2. You should get the following skills ASAP, be it at level 1:
- Merchant
- Perception
- Bow
3. The Merchant skill: It's waste of skill points to invest in it. It cannot help you too much in the beginning of the game when you need money awfully, and it is completely worthless in the advanced stage of the game when you will have heaps of money so that selling or buying a bit less or more advantageously will be completely unessential to you.
Therefore, buy the skill - you get your money back many times in the better prices soon - and let the skill be.
4. Priest. He isn't a bad fighter! Give him a mace and a shield (shield - priest is the only class which cannot use 2nd weapon).
5. Body and Spirit magic: Invest in them heavily! These schools contain the most important protective spells and, I daresay, the spells of these schools are cast most frequently! Not only Heal, but also Bless, Heroism, Cure Disease, Cure Poison, Remove Curse, Cure Weakness, and so on, and so on.
The Mind magic is less important but it contains Cure Insanity.
6. Magic schools in general: *all* magic schools contain important spells. You are always taking considerable disadvantage if you aren't enough good in some magic school. I recommend the following.
- Priest: E4 Body and Spirit Magic ASAP. Heal, Cure Poison, Bless, Remove Curse, and Heroism spells. M7 in Body Magic quickly, Protection from Magic and Cure Disease spells.
- Mage: E4 in Fire, Water and Air Magic ASAP. Light, Jump, Fire Aura, and Water Walk spells. M7 in Water and Air Magic quickly, Town Portal, Enchant Item, Fly, and Invisibility spells.
