I clear the area, and if it respawns, I go back and clear it again. I don't do this regularly to the areas in MM9 because the monsters respawn so quickly, but all the others in MM6-MM8 get cleaned up at regular intervals. For example, I clear New Sorpigal regularly in MM6. Also Mire of the Damned, and Dragonsand. (Sometime, I want to run a game long enough so that all the dungeons respawn, then I can go through them all again.)The earlier Might & Magic games don't respawn at all once the trigger that starts the monsters generating has been removed. E.g. once you've destroyed the goblin hut in area A1 of MM3 and killed all the goblins, you'll never get any more goblins there. (I tried finding the trigger point to generate hydras on the Isle of Fire once, but never succeeded.) I don't know how I managed it, but once or twice I've succeeded in generating the hydras in Greywind's dungeon, as well. Usually, I'm in and back out again and see only the snakes.
Talking about snakes, there's a quote from W C Fields, who is said to liked the odd drink. "I keep a bottle of stimulant handy in case I meet a snake - which I also keep handy."
