I've played Swords a couple of times.

It's not bad, but not great. I cannot give you a total opinion, because the original release is the only one I played, and that had a game-killing bug about 5 steps (literally 5 steps) from the end. I could nearly see where I had to go, but any attempt to progress crashed the game.

I felt it lacked any secondary plot. Like MM3 had all the dungeons to clear and lands to explore, but it also had these mysterious pyramids, which were quite unlike the "Sword and Sorcery" of the rest of the game. Additionally, there was the Corak and Sheltem subplot which was clearly ongoing. The objective to save the ship 'way up in the north of the lands was, I felt, in some way inadequate. I can't explain more; the game just didn't grab me like the others did.

But it is unquestionably a Might & Magic game, and I enjoyed it. I just didn't enjoy it as much as the other early ones.
