Spell targeting 11/03/2004, 00:37:58 |

From a quick test, it looks like the damage is 12 plus 1 per point of skill in Mind Magic (rather than 12 plus 1-12 per point as claimed). It doesn't autotomatically select a target, but it will aim at a target that the mouse indicates. > Ice Blast and Death Blossom, like Psychic Shock, are so
Another quick test: Ice Blast targets exactly the same way Psychic Shock does: Only when you indicate a target. (Given that Ice Blast can affect things not directly aimed at, the ability to aim it straight ahead by not pointing the mouse at anything can even work to a clever player's advantage.) You target a Death Blossom by aiming your party at the enemy (like with Rock Blast, except that looking up/down doesn't change the firing angle) and gauging the distance to them. Since it always goes the same distance to the center of the explosion, follow a test Death Blossom on your mini-map to see how far it goes. Then try to have your enemies about that far from you on the mini-map when you fire it in combat. (As if that were not enough precision to ask for, you can also adjust how much it spreads. Fly upward so that it bursts higher, and it will spread farther (as it falls farther). The center point of the explosion is the same regardless of altitude. For a tight and deadly explosion, fire the Death Blossom from ground level.) Lastly, though this will almost never be useful, a Death Blossom will explode prematurely if it hits an obstacle (or creature) before it finishes its arc. BV |
