To be more specific, I was born in the County of Lancashire - named after the City of Lancaster, its County Town - so my overlord is the King. The Monarchs of England have held the title of Duke of Lancaster since the Battle of Bosworth Field, the concluding battle of the Wars of the Roses in 1485. In that battle the Lancastrians, led by Henry Tudor (later King Henry VII) defeated the Yorkists and killed their leader, King Richard III.

Richard III was the last English King to die in battle. His remains were discovered in 2012 under a car park in Leicester and were later entombed in Leicester Cathedral.

He was not the last English King to lead his men into battle, though. That honour (if you want to call it an honour) belongs to George II, who led his men at the Battle of Dettingen in 1743, a fairly inconclusive affray during the Wars of the Austrian Succession.
