When MM6 first came out, laptops were a lot rarer than they are now, and considerably more expensive. And something else – in my experience, power-saving features quite often interfere with computers' automatic back-up routines. No back-up is going to occur if a computer's in "sleep" mode. Similarly, in the days when I was wasting money by getting my TV through Sky (cursed be their name!), I didn't thank them for not telling me that they had downloaded an automatic "shut-down after inactivity" routine to my Sky box. The first thing I knew about it was when my video recorder did not record some late-night films that I wanted to see. Grrr . . . . !!
