I put 'cheating' in quotation marks intentionally; I should have phrased it better. I guess what I meant is - what are your own guidelines - for you - when you're playing the game. I've done about everything that can be done (though I've never used an editor), and what I do will vary according to my primary purpose in playing a game. But I still have my own basic guidelines for what I consider a fair game. For example, I really think the NWC dungeon should be avoided, but I hit it at least once as often as not. I don't, in general, think that you have to clear every dungeon that you enter, but I've played a game where I did that. I consider the way I usually do Kriegspire fair - I kill just a few minotaurs in the side rooms on the way to the secret switch and that's about it. That's really all that's required to do the quest. Similarly in superior temple. But I consider the secret door in Darkmoor to be a 'cheat' in a way. I'm kind of ambiguous about Alamos. I feel like I ought to do more than just run in grab it but I also know there are easier ways to hit every tree without killing off the whole place.
Oddly, I reload at shops all the time but never multi-loot. I can't explain that. If I'm playing a solo game (which I'm about to try again) then everything is fair game. I'll take all the help and shortcuts I can get including the NWC dungeon.
I was just curious as to other's viewpoints on this.
