A game with no light and dark magics

It is just a way to test how playable the game is if the more powerful spells like sharp metal and dragon breath are no longer available. So far the game runs smoothly, master in water magic (acid burst) and air magic (impulsion) can handle most of the monsters until early mid game. However, I am foreseeing problems when I need to fight stronger opponents later. I did not use sorcerer as they are not very useful if dark magic is not allowed. The archer and druid are very weak at the beginning and get killed a lot. However, once they had achieved master in elemental magic they become the chief fighters. They can do 80 ` 100 damage per attack and they always hit. The knight was very powerful at the beginning but it become much less useful even with master level knife, bow and plate – he miss too often and the good knives only do 60~70 damage even if they hit. Someone in here suggest adding a spear but I am considering the efficiency of using so many additional skill points just to bring the knight to master of spear. For similar reason, the Paladin is also not very useful as a fighter after early mid-game but at least he can cure everybody with power cure. If I shall start a new game, I will probably use PAAD for this kind of game.
