Even at 16 in learning, I get about 650k experience for clearing the Hive and I can clear it out in about 15 minutes. So in the six months between other zones repopping, I clear it, then go train, then go clear it again - rinse and repeat. I use a mixture of Dragon Breath and Shrapmetal, though mostly Dragon Breath. My problem in the Arena wasn't killing the Gold Dragons - it was being able to survive long enough. I haven't tried it in about 100 levels; maybe I'll give it another shot.
One of these days I want to revive the Paladin in my party, equip him really well, cast all the buff spells on him, then temporarily kill the wizard and see what a level 1 can do with all those buffs on him.
