In one hour I made great advancement. It seemed that I'll be left sorta stuck, but after my trip into the Temple of Moo it doesn't seem so anymore.
I found the Fire Mascot of Moo, so I became crusader.
I fought the Cleric of Moo and defeated him in heroic battle (my characters are ranging from level 7 to level 9). I truly don't know what good I'll have from it, but he had quite large treasure and I learnt Fireball from one of his treasure chests. (I found a secret passage, so I broke the wall down and saw there a message saying 'north west north east south'. I'm rather confused, but I believe I'll find out later in the game. Or, to be more accurate, I hope.)
Being a Crusader, I immediately went into the Castle Whiteshield. In my first trip in I tried to open some blueish chest. It made loud annoying WHEE! WHEE! WHEE! and guards came in. I was throwing lightnings and fireballs on them, but they were just too many and I succumbed. Reload.
A second try. Instead of trying to open the chests I read the inscriptions on the statues of castle guards, so I'm trying to combine Astriel, Teshy, Leadbest and Jodelle in such a way that I could subtract Whiteshield. Kinda confusing. It says 'north before south, east before west', but the statues are in NE, SE, NW and SW. I've thought that the 'north before south' = 'name of the warrior who had fallen in the north' + 'name of the warrior who had fallen in the south'. Assuming that the Frozen Isles == north and the Fire Isle == south, it gives combination 12 letters long and I don't know how to subtract Whiteshield 11 chars long. Well, maybe I'm taking it too mathematically, time will show. (Don't dare to even try to tell me the solution though! I'll make it out sooner or later.)
(Tried to subtract it anyway. It gave 'jrvvrgllvmvu'. That isn't the solution I think...) (Tried to subtract it as if it were two numbers in base 26. Got 'iquurflkvmvu'. I think this isn't the right answer either...)
