I wish I could identify the clown(s) who dreamed up sub-prime lending. IMO, it was nothing more than a legal scam. What sort of idiot could believe that is ever good long-term business to lend to people to are known to be unable to repay it? And when, inevitably, this house of cards came tumbling down, we all got hurt - except for the top bankers, of course, most of whom seem to have made fortunes out of it. And I resent that more than anything. Grrrrr!
