My philosophy is that one plays single playeer RPGs for his/her own enjoyment and how it is accomplished is of no ones concern but the player.If you want to use an editor and make all stats 100, so what? It's your game and you should do whatever you like.
The only way I would call exploitation of bugs, editing, aggressive saving-reloading, and other such tactics cheating is that if a player was to trumpet how well his party did in a game and fail to mention that he/she employed one or more of the above mentioned, if they in fact did so.
I don't normally use editors (except sometimes to REMOVE unwanted skills that are assigned at character creation like Leather for Knights), but sometimes (if I am not playing iron man mode) do mephisto shops and cadavers of high level monsters for artifacts and specific items and towns for hireable RPCs that I may need.
