Before you patch your MM6 game, you need to know which version you've got. To find out, do the following (and please forgive me if I'm metaphorically teaching my grandmother to suck eggs):

1. Find your mm6.exe file - the easiest way to do this is by using the search function accessed via the Start button.

2. Right-click on the filename, and left-click on "Properties" in the menu that opens.

3. Left-click on the "Version" tab just below the title bar. Ignore the "File version" number, this is not what you want.

4. In the white window titled "Other Version Information", left click on "Product Version". The product version is given where it says "Value", and this is what you need.

If your Product Version is v1.0, you need mm610-12.exe, and if your Product Version is 1.1, you need MM611-12.exe.
