Couple of ideas on flying strafe techniques(not about keys mind you ! )

I have no doubt that my opinion is shared by many fans of the series, but it seems that flying is absolutely necessary in MM6, while for people who played a lot MM 7-8 might prefer to stay afoot on might parties preferring to grind down any hostiles in the given area and considering flying as a bit too
advantageous (making game too easy etc).
Yes,let us confess-MM6 is far more populated by monsters then MM7-8,while lacking the most wondrous spell-'Regeneration',also having some armor bugs which delay attack speed(AS-in future references)
and finally not having "Armsmaster"skill which yet contributes
to your attacks being slower then in MM7-8.
Frankly speaking, MM6 is kind of difficult game if you play it once in 15-20 months taking your time to forget some codes and directions.
One more component different in MM6 is that you stand un-moving in turn-based combat mode and so have no way to retreat with style like in 7-8.

I believe those arguments above could convince many to agree that flying is rather necessary skill in MM6, even vital on some maps.
Practically ,with some timing and coordination you can dodge
magical blast while flying and fighting in turn-based .Ofc
down and up since these are only directions which are available in MM6's turn-based flying mode.
I can't say why MM7 is less intensive then MM6 ,it has some
very !hot spots" mainly indoors ,but i mainly preferred to play it on feet in classical version.
with release of BDJ's mod the situation has dramatically change and lots of spots outdoors become quite inhabited by zounds of monsters.
I remember with pleasure the true strafing runs my low-bies party had been performing near the entry to Stone City-charging several hundreds of over-sized arachnids who also shoot some very deadly acid and fire in us those adding a real challenge to situation(we used Zedd's iron rules-no reloads)of course we had some explosive impact bows for normal bows would not be enough to kill them all in time since we used fly-scroll.
The scenes of this monstrous butchery were truly overwhelming:
the whole floor of the basin between rivers was carpeted in twitching dying bodies of the arachnids, yet more of them were directing their deadly salvo at us .We could never stop for it would mean sad demise of the party and so we were strafing in low fly all the time just shooting whatever it goes with those blasting bows.
Yes,some of the chars have got one,two lvl up - direct kill exp-even before meeting our quest-giver.
