Thank you for your thoughtful response. I'm guessing that since you recommend Morgan that you do believe that the elemental schools have continued use even in the late game? I figure water doesn't need any more points than to master because I never use it. I love your idea regarding the Shrapmetal. I've been using that same idea with Sparks... there's really no better way to use sparks than in melee range.
What is an appropriate skill level for weapons and bows? I do want to up spear, but when does the law of diminishing marginal utility take over? I'm also worried that I should save a lot of points and just pump blasters when they become available (I only have 1 memory crystal just to give you an idea of where I'm at). Is it worth pumping bows past master?
Finally (I know this post is getting long)are there some spells that just won't ever appear in the guilds? I have never seen half of the light/dark magics... I always see reanimate and a few others but never the heavy hitters like dragon's breath/Arma.
