The file, "MSS32.dll" is part of the problem for some XP users (myself, for example).

There's a utility to decompress the file, which seems to remove the page installation error.

(Decompression means 388k instead of 150k, so no biggie for anyone running XP)

The decompressor is "dshrnk16," which comes w/o directions. Here's what I did,

    • created a temp folder to contain dshrink16
    • added a copy of MSS32.dll to same folder (located in the main game directory
    • in shrink, used the "filename - input" icon to choose mss32.dll (with "DLL" selected as file type)
    • used the "filename - output" icon to point to a new file name, "unshrnk-mss32.dll"
you have to select a file and then type in a name - it doesn't seem to allow typing in a name first (again, select the "DLL" file type)
    • press the "decompress" button at the bottom, ignoring everything else (interesting though it may looK)
    • renamed the original file to mss32.dll.orig
    • dragged the unpacked file to the game dir
    • renamed that file to mss32.dll
    • ran the game w/o issue

The "related" link is for the shrinker.
