Can't get the game to run in windows 7

    I have been reading the board and tried a lot of stuff. I have installed the game in a FAT32 partition. I have run the 1->1.2 patch and the TELP 1.3 patch. I also deleted all the related entries in the registry before I reinstalled. I have an original 3DO CD.

    Depending on which way I try to start the program one of two things happens:

    The launch page comes up OK but when I click on launch the page disappears but the game doesn't start.

    OR

    The launch page comes up but all the buttons say "invalid text"

    Bones, if you're still around, can you help?

    'Invalid text' is what the game says when it can't find the correct data file, so it sounds like some entry somewhere is incorrect, but that isn't the critical problem. I don't know what the critical problem is, however.

    Did the game run before you patched it?

    To be more explicit, when I try to run it after putting in the 1.2 and Telp13 patches I get the launch box but nothing happens when I hit launch. If I then do the cshell thing, that's when I get the invalid text error. I hit where I know the launch box is and it disappears but the game doesn't start.

Bought on GOG, patched by fans to 1.3 -a real freesing crepe !!!

Ir sounds like you might need to use Mok's CSHELL....

    CSHELL.dll is a library of routines to support the game. Mok fixed several problems that caused problems like you're having. Move your original CSHELL to a safe place and move Mok's version (link below) into the folder. Let us know if that fixed your problems.
