I got a new machine a few months ago and just went to play M&M8 on it. Got an error while loading. Tried 6 and 7. Same thing. Has anyone been able to play these games on XP? Can I still play these games? Help?

Win XP have. Install the game, right click on .exe icon, choose properties. There will be option to set it in compatibility mode with Win98. Save new properties, enjoy the game.

For might and magic 7 I don't have any compatibility settings set. My desktop had to be at 16bit, 32 bit didn't work. I had to turn off d3d sound and graphics too. 6 is a little bit less picky, I think it worked just fine without doing anything to the compatibility settings, at least for me.
