I uninstalled the 'fullscreen fix' then played around with making it windowed again.

It doesn't seem to crash anymore when windowed (at least I can get to character creation). I must have changed something for the better between now and when I first tried.

I do need to lower the resolution on my monitor first or it ends up being tiny but at least it works.

It's too bad the fullscreen fix is no good for me.
