We had this sort of problem with WinXP. Prior to Mok writing his patches for MM6-8, all sorts of things were tried, and different solutions worked for different people. And there was a tiny minority for whom Mok's patches didn't work either. There probably is a way to get the thing to play, but I'm darned if I know what it might be. Asking Bones is probably your best bet.
