Original Message:   Enchantments / Enchant Item
1st - A simple, yet complicated question...

Does anyone know the exact details of how this system works?

and 2nd, my observations on the matter...

it seems to me, Enchant item has 3 power categories, say I, II, & III for simplicity.

and items have a power level as well, which seems to dictate what power level enchantments it will *likely* receive as well as which ones are impossible.

for example...

i have noted that a "poor sword" can receive "Icy" 2d6 ele dam, but have never seen "Flamed"

although the odds are say 90-95% that a poor sword will receive a level I enchantment, level II are possible.

also,

right before this post i tested enchant item on a "chopper" 2h sword let's assume it is level "5".

out of 30 times it received,

Fear 3, Polka 3, Dragon Slayer 4, Disease 5, Brawlers 4, Permanance 3, Vital Force, and Vampiric Drain, all level III enchantments as best as I can figure, but did also receive "soul" one time, which is a level II.

so statistically it got a level III enchant 96.67% and level II 3.33%...

i'm more inclined to think the real numbers are 95/5 if drawn out to inifinity.

I believe the items have a strength of either 1 to 3, or 1 to 5... and according to that strength have a 95% chance of an enchantment of the same level and a 5% chance of either a greater or weaker level of enchantment.

Or perhaps for a mid level item a 90% exact level & 5% up, 5% down...

in any case, i'd like to know the EXACT mechanics if possible...

I was gathering up a list of possible enchantments when i found FlameStrykes' site, which I borrowed the list from & added a column for "Value added" on an excel sheet.

my original curiousity was peaked when i found the "Brawler" enchantment and wanted desperately to get this enchantment added to a Thrown Dagger, for my Assassin... but, after much wasted time I now believe this to be an impossibility...

missile weapons are AMAZING if you have 4 characters with "Brawler" equipment...
