Someone on this forum turned me on to DOS BOX, and I have been happily playing the pre-Windows installments of M&M. Today disaster struck. M&M III only allows one save file all the way through the game unless you want to go in and change the file names so you can collect a few. Well, I didn't do that. All my characters got aged by crystals in the Aft Storage Section and I saved without checking their stats. Next thing I know they're all dead because they are 200+ years old. "No problem," I thought. "I'll go to that Fountain of Youth." Said Fountain of Youth only removed about 30 years, so now they are 192 years old, infirm, feeble, and dying every couple of days. Their ages are green. I hit that Fountain five times to no effect. They ain't getting any younger by established procedures. I guess I'm either going to have to start over or rewrite the code in the game save. How hard is that? I looked at the CC, SAVE, and CUR files in WordPad, and couldn't see anything that was obviously character stats except the character names. Am I hopelessly over my head and I should just start over? I love this forum and I love Might and Magic. All those yahoos can keep their World of Warcraft stuff.
