Usually folks have problems when there drivers are too old, but in this case -- if it is your drivers -- it's probably because they are too new.

If you want to mess with this, get a utility that will remove your current drivers, then install drivers from around 2002-2004. This presumes that you're running WinXP and DX9.0c. If you're on Vista and DX10 then what I know might not apply.
