the game was not meant to play on Vista, but your main problem is probably the drivers. Apparently some cards do not have Vista-compatible drivers yet, while others have problematic ones (ATI is one such example). Especially if you have Vista on a laptop. The only possible solution is to try and find the latest drivers for you graphics card. Or, as I said, install XP
