I turned off the firewalls etc and reapplied the patch but the file is still unaltered. HOWEVER, I copied the file to the desktop and successfully applied the patch (it was still unplayable). I then dragged the data file into the file that is in program files and it works! I teleported to Thronheim and I was taken to the pedestal as it should. Oh well, there goes my exploitation of the Training Hall, where I was inprogress!
