In dark there is only souldrinker. In elemental you have PC and Chain Lightning. So, it might not be a bad idea to further develop elemental skill. As for spells in mm6, low spell point at lower levels successfully restricted you from using all higher-level spells. Besides, there were some restrictio0ns like in Lyloyd's at lower lvls.
