I'm not sure about your game, but in my game, LB is bugged beneficially. I'm pretty sure that when LB positions are set by a fully developed mage or lich with GM in elemental magic, the positions don't expire no matter how much time elapses. I am not sure if this applies to positions set by the priest, however. Paralyze definitely works in my game. Paralyze and Poison Cloud are the two spells I use to kill the dragon.
