I suspect that your graphics drivers are too *new*. Often venders sacrifice the speed of older routines when they add new ones. Reverting to old drivers requires cleansing your system of the current ones. It can be done but you'll probably need a utility. Check out the geek sites.

You also might be able to fix this by running in Win98 compatibility mode. Try that first (since it's easier) and let us know if it works.
