Original Message: Not a fair comparison |

MM9 has no time passed for training. MM8 used 8 days for every level. So, comparing 7 months to 3 years is totally invalid. You have to compare "hours of play" to be fair. In terms of game time and number of quests, the two are similar but because of the Armagedden spell, MM8 can be done quicker. You get 4 Lichs, enter a map, fly up in the air, cast a dozen Armageddens, pick up the treasure. It's very quick and easy. The monsters in MM9 fight smarter and the game is better balanced overall than previous versions. Still, all M&M games are great. My favorite is still Worlds of Xeen (MM4 & 5) which takes at least a month to finish. The graphics and fighting engines are really dated but it's a classic anyway. |
