I remember spending ages mephistoing a character in Frosgard for the "Death's Touch" spell, and not finding one. Then, when I cleared the Bath House in Arslegard, I found about 3 of them. And it's happened a number of times that I've been hoping to find the "Perception" skill in treasure in Sturmford and it's never turned up until after I've lost patience and bought it. Then it turns up. Oh boy just does it - multiple copies in every place you can imagine. It happens; I've no idea why. The only thing I was able to do was learn to live with it.
