According to my diagnostic utilities, I have an Intel Celeron processor MMX (~460MHz) with 256 MB of RAM and an S3 ViRGE/DX/GX PCI video controller. I also have DirectX 9.0c. I found a Driver for my card dated 1997 with a note indicating that S3 was no longer going to support the card, and that this would therefore be the last driver written for this video card. After updating the driver, I got a message of "Hardware accelerated Direct3D 8+ is not available because the display driver does not support it. You may be able to get a newer driver from the hardware manufacturer." The 8 and 9 3D draw tests won't execute (because they aren't supported). The rest of the tests pass, but I suspect this means that I will have great difficulty finding a driver that is 100% compatable with both my card and DirectX 9.0c. Does anyone see any other software things I can try, or do I need to go looking for a new video card?
