I just reinstalled on a new machine and have no sound. The movie intro plays fine with sound but when it gets to the game screen there is nothing. The setup utility says there is no 3d sound provider. How do I change it to run in software mode like in mm8? I have hardware acceleration turned off in dxdiag, I've tried it in default settings and with EAC on, still nothing. Soundcard is Sigmatel running XP. Games goes fine...just no sound.
