I started a New Thread so any new readers won't have to read the long one below. My search for a patch took me to http://www.keytech.com/~klar/MM9/Patch/MM9_Patch.html on that site the instructions included: "The program will search for Might and Magic IX and update it." I downloaded the patch into a Temp Dir. and ran it from there - getting error messages & the patch shut down. Duhhh, I FINALLY put the patch in the same dir with mm9.exe. I still got the Missing ini. error message, but the patch ran & worked. I'd like to thank all who worked on this with me. I'll be visiting MM9 Tavern often to offer anything I might to the quality of the discussion. (mostly to read tho, I'll admit). Thanks again Twin
