ok I have found it now. Thanks very much. I should have looked more thouroughly, I suppose. Arrogance. I did wonder why a complete skeleton was there, when the relic had been replaced with a sheep's ankle bone! The fact that the skeleton dissappears did reinforce my conviction that it was the relic, however. Why does it do this???
I also searched the shelves, continually pressing spacebar, with increasing frustration. I consulted a walkthough (the only time I have for M&M IX), which said that it was in that room. How are you supposed to find it without knowing that it is on the table? (sorry, outpouring of hours of frustration.)
I will now fight the dragon... Thanks again.
