with the exception of two. As an example, say I took a fighter, and nominated him for both mercenary and crusader. I finished crusader first, so that is the promotion he gets. But I can still have him complete the other quest, for XP only. This is how most promos work, even after he's been promoted, the other quests can still be done for experience. The two exceptions are Priest and Lich. For these two only, you must have a character become a priest or a lich in order to complete those quests and get the xp for them.
