The version 0.024 refers to something else -- probably one of the libraries. I don't have a 1.0 installation, but the files that were not updated with the 1.2 patch all have the same size.

I think you wrote that this installation isn't working either. My guess is that the CD-R, RW and DVD drives are conflicting with Buka's copy protection system. Perhaps this alone is the reason for the changes to lithtech.exe.

You might be able to get around this by updating the firmware on your CD-RW. Another approach would be to use a non-Buka version of the MM9 lithtech.exe.

If you get the game to run then it should be safe to install the official 1.2 patch. If you do that, re-run test.bat and post the results here. I'll be able to tell you if it worked.
