Original Message:   This is Buka's English version, right?
I doubt that it needs to be patched to 1.2. The non-American versions were nearly all 1.2 already.

OTOH, applying the 1.2 patch probably would not have any effect. Here's what I'd suggest:

1) Uninstall everything MM9. Save the patch files, test.bat and any save files somewhere else.

2) Install your game in Safe Mode.

3) Check the version number on mm9.exe. WinXP and Win2K put those extra zeros in; it's not important. I think should be 1.2 dated 2002.03.20 -- the same file as in 3DO's 1.2 English versions.

[ I mistaken before; Buka's changed lithtech.exe (not mm9.exe), splitting it into lithtech.exe and lithtech.dll. I *think* this was done to make changes to accommodate the different keyboard on the Russian version. They've used a DLL for their English version as well. I don't know why, but the date seems to indicate that there aren't significant differences from 3DO's version. ]

4) Move test.bat into your MM9 folder and run it. Post the resulting mm9dir.txt here. I'll be able to tell you if any other files differ from 3DO's version.

5) Play the game. Make sure you can create a party and save your game. Check the dialog. Check the control options.

6) If the data files are the same as 3DO's then you should be able to use TELP's 1.3 patch. Wait until I tell you to go ahead, though.
