I think the noteworthy ability is in being able to access all that accumulated data. It might be presumptuous of me, but I believe that everyone retains their past experiences. However, if those experiences don't make some cohesive sense then they are very hard to remember. The trick is to organize those experiences you can and recognize when you don't understand something so you can create a special case for it until the time you do. If this is the case, then flypaper is the wrong metaphor. I can't think of a correct one off the top of my head. How about you?
