I'm surprised about not being able to run MM9. It's usually the older ones (MM1-MM8) that people have problems. Some things you could try is to make sure you have the latest version of DirectX from Microsoft, the latest drivers for your video card, and any applicable sound card drivers up to date as well. I'd try those first, but XP also has compatibility mode. Just right click on MM9, go to the compatibility tab and select Windows 2000 or 98 to see if that works or not.
