The computer has Norton's Anitvirus and I'm not sure of a firewall as we have a router which has a built in firewall. This is actually the second time I have had this game on this computer and installed the patch. The first time everything was fine but at some point all I could get was a black screen when I started the game up. Re-installing lost all the save games and they were not recognized when I transfered the copies over.

And the computer is NTFS.
